Liverpool's pursuit of Ibrahima Konate could impact their Premier League rivals.
Konate will officially become a Liverpool player on July 1 after leaving RB Leipzig.
The German club are now looking at replacements for the 22-year-old centre-back.
According to Sky Germany, one option is Wolfsburg stopper Maxence Lacroix.
The Frenchman has recently been linked with Chelsea following a fine season in Bundesliga, in which he made 30 appearances.
Lacroix was recently asked about Chelsea's interest, to which he replied: "I want to concentrate on my work here at VfL and want to do a good job here.
"I am very happy here. I still have a three-year contract here and I am very satisfied.
"Sure, things can always happen quickly in football, but again: I feel very comfortable at VfL and there is absolutely no reason to think about other things."
