West Ham United are considering the appointment of a director of football.
Football Insider reports that Alan Irvine is a leading contender to take the role at the London club.
Manager David Moyes wants to overhaul the recruitment team at the club, while Irvine is Moyes' former no.2 on his coaching staff.
The 62-year-old is no longer assistant, but has a role as technical advisor to Moyes.
If Irvine did become director of football, he would have a much more important role within the club setup.
