A ROW of five shops were destroyed in a fire at Jalan Tamu, Pitas, on Tuesday.
Kota Marudu Fire and Rescue Station Chief Rony Sikawan said no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
He said seven personnel, including himself, rushed to the location led by Senior Fire Officer II Kamaruddin Sabanah along with a machine, a water tanker and a utility vehicle after receiving an emergency call at 4.33pm.
“It took us 46 minutes to arrive at the scene located about 46km away before starting operations at 5.20pm.
“The fire was brought under control at 5.22pm and the operations ended at 6.38pm,” he said, adding the cause of the incident and estimated losses are still under investigation.
