Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is demanding new contracts for three senior players as a matter of priority.

Klopp is putting plans in place for the season ahead and doesn't want any uncertainty hanging over his side as they bid to regain the Premier League title from Manchester City.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told the Here We Go Podcast that Liverpool are working on deals for Fabinho, Alisson and Virgil van Dijk.

He said: “At the moment there is nothing advanced. Their priority is sorting out new contracts for Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.

“They're working on Fabinho's deal. They want to extend the contracts of Alisson and Van Dijk as soon as possible."

Despite Liverpool's willingness to agree new contracts with the trio of stars, they do have plenty of leeway.

Fabinho and Van Dijk's current deals are not due to run out until 2023, while Alisson is contracted until 2024.

Nevertheless, Klopp wants to resolve the situation and kick-on with making additions to his squad this summer, says the Daily Star.
