Former Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong hailed the performance of N'Golo Kante for Chelsea's Champions League triumph on Saturday.
Kante was named the final's man of the match after a superb display against City.
De Jong reflected: "He made the difference. If you saw him at work, in that controlling role... That's what every team needs.
“It doesn't matter if you're Manchester City or Barcelona, any club. He destroyed Manchester City's midfield.
"I don't think there is a player in the world more important to his club than Kante."
