Manchester United have tabled a bid for Juventus defender Cristian Romero.
Gazzetta dello Sport says United have launched an offer for the Argentine in a complex deal.
Romero spent this past season on-loan with Atalanta.
Atalanta are expected to exercise their option to sign him permanently.
Atalanta will pay €16m for his services and it's suggested an immediate sale to United may be on the cards, with it stated a bid of €45m has been placed.
