Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is emerging as the most likely man to take the Tottenham hot seat.
Conte, who recently departed from Serie A champions Inter Milan, is discussing terms with Spurs at the moment.
BBCsays talks between Conte and Spurs have advanced quickly, with expectation growing that the Italian will succeed Jose Mourinho as manager.
Spurs had made contact with former manager Mauricio Pochettino, now in charge of PSG, last week.
But the Parisians remained stubborn that they would not let Pochettino leave.
The north London club have been without a manager since Mourinho was sacked on April 19.
Conte, who won the Premier League when he was at Spurs' London rivals Chelsea, would be tasked with getting the club back into the top four.
With Ryan Mason as interim boss, Spurs finished the season in seventh on the Premier League table.
