AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is about to enter the final year of his current contract.
But the 55-year-old is not focused on renewing his deal at San Siro.
“The renewal of my contract is not the priority," Pioli told La Repubblica. “With (Paolo) Maldini and (Ricky) Massara we will talk above all about how to improve the team ahead of the Champions League.
“It must be the year of our confirmation. I feel lucky to work in this club and with this group. I would have liked to emulate the Giro d'Italia feat of my idol [Gianni] Bugno, to lead from start to finish.
“But the drop in form was normal. We have never had doubts about the principles of the game, working on the details."
