The Black Cats are keen to sign Sanderson on a permanent basis.
But they failed with their first offer of £1m, per the Daily Mail.
Wolves are looking for closer to £2m for their academy graduate.
Cardiff City, Birmingham City, Stoke City, Luton Town and Millwall all share an interest in Sanderson.
