Arsenal are unlikely to have any chance of signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid this summer.

The Spanish giants have appointed Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager, with the Italian returning to the club this summer.

The Italian mentioned loan players such as Odegaard and Dani Ceballos - who was also with Arsenal - during his first press conference.

If Ancelotti wants Odegaard to stay, Arsenal will have to pursue another creative attacking midfielder.

"I know the squad very well, lots of experienced players who I know, and promising young players too, plus those coming back from loans," Ancelotti said at a press conference.

"With this squad, without loan players like Bale, Odegaard and [Dani] Ceballos, Madrid reached the Champions League semis and fought for La Liga.

"So we have the players to win trophies."
