Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has offered an update on their manager search.

Former Roma coach Paulo Fonseca is expected to be soon appointed.

Tottenham failed in their approaches for Bayern Munich-bound Julian Nagelsmann, Leicester City's Brendan Rodgers and Antonio Conte. But now Spurs look set on speaking to Portuguese boss Fonseca, who Jose Mourinho replaced at Roma.

On the appointment of a new manager, Levy said: "Some of the individuals mentioned in the media that have rejected us, we haven't even spoken to.

"I don't want to comment on one individual, lots of things get reported. All I would say is until we get something official, that is the only thing fans will want to believe in."
