Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin has blasted France fans attacking PSG striker Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe is being heavily criticised for a poor Euro 2020 - which included missing the decisive spotkick in the round of 16 defeat to Switzerland.
Saint-Maximin posted to social media: "See the reversal of the jacket of these 'supporters' lynching a man who yesterday carried them to the top to make them experience the most beautiful of emotions ... That's the most failed action of the evening ... There is no scapegoat… We win together, we lose together…
“And it's the same for Giroud, he's part of the team! We are in the culture of the moment and in the search for a scapegoat to overcome our frustration, I am not saying to 'congratulate a player' or 'not to criticize him' but not to lynch him, it's different."
