Nick Pope is in line for a new contract offer from Burnley.

The Mirror says the 29-year-old was ruled out of Gareth Southgate's squad after sustaining a knee injury, for which he has undergone minor surgery.

Chelsea and Tottenham are among the sides who have monitored Pope's progress at Turf Moor over the years.

And Burnley are keen to offer him a lucrative new deal to tie him down to the club for longer, and to protect their asset, as he enters the final two years of his current contract.

Pope is a key figure in Sean Dyche's squad and the club want to ensure he stays that way.
