Kota Kinabalu: Screenings in areas under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (Emco) including Kepayan Prison caused a spike by 256 new cases in Sabah today, said the state's spokesman for the crisis Datuk Masidi Manjun.
"Major screening exercise in [Emco] localities and among close contacts resulted in a spike of new cases to 256," he announced on Twitter.
"The Kepayan Prison alone registered 27 new cases pushing KK total to 71. Existing clusters, close contacts and targeted screening produced 228 new cases."
