Brighton are making a move for Stuttgart striker Nicolas Gonzalez.
The Argentine is a target for Tottenham and Fiorentina this summer.
However, the Guardian says Brighton have jumped into the lead in the race for Gonzalez's signature this week.
Indeed, Brighton have reached an agreement with Stuttgart for a price of £25m.
If the deal goes through, González will be the most expensive signing ever for Brighton.
Brighton manager Graham Potter regards the striker highly and has personally scouted him for over a year.
