The Evening Chronicle says Jacob Murphy, Paul Dummett and Kell Watts have already returned to Newcastle's training ground to start preparing for the new campaign.
The club released photographs of the trio working in the gym on Friday morning - two-and-a-half weeks before the players are due back at Benton for testing.
While the squad were encouraged to have some time off following the final game of the season, against Fulham, they were also handed individual programmes to follow.
Meanwhile, Newcastle hope to tie Murphy down to a long-term contract, particularly after the wide man made the right wing-back spot his own during the run-in.
