Agent Sandor Varga has revealed Crystal Palace made an attempt for Spartak Moscow striker Aleksandr Sobolev.
Varga admits Palace have expressed interest in Sobolev.
“Have you recently been approached from Europe about Russian players? Unfortunately, they used to contact me more often," said Varga.
"Now there are fewer and fewer calls. The last specific story - Crystal Palace - wanted to take Sobolev, but it didn't come to negotiations."
Last season, Sobolev played 24 matches for Spartak in all competitions, scored 15 goals and gave five assists.
