Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier has told England teammates that he is keen to join Manchester United this summer.

The 30-year-old right-back won La Liga with Atletico Madrid last season but has told pals in the Three Lions set-up that he is open to a move to Old Trafford, says the Mirror.

United want Trippier to provide competition for Aaron Wan Bissaka, and believe a fee of between £15million and £20m should be enough to convince Atletico to do business.

The Spanish champions are keen to keep hold of Trippier, whose appearances for the club in the title-winning campaign triggered a one-year contract extension which binds him to the club until 2023.

However, such has been the impact on football finances across Europe that United hope there is a deal to be done.

Former Burnley and Tottenham defender Trippier hails from Greater Manchester, and the opportunity to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad will present him with the chance to move home.
