Manchester City defender Ruben Dias rejected criticism of Portugal coach Fernando Santos after defeat to Belgium.
The title holders are out of Euro 2020 after their round of 16 defeat to Belgium yesterday.
Dias later reflected: "We were always close to scoring. Even in the first half, it was a really balanced match. They ended up having a bit of luck because the ball went in a strange direction and hit the target. We were close to scoring in many ways, but the ball would not enter today.
"I do not want to say that it was our game plan that failed. I would even say it made us feel good and superior. Unfortunately, we did not get what we wanted most. Whether we had a plan that made us play good or bad, we have to win."
