Aston Villa striker Bertrand Traore is undergoing groin surgery.
Foot Mercato says Traore was permitted to leave Burkina Faso's setup to undergo the operation in Manchester on Monday.
It has been described in the French press as a 'minor intervention' to deal with pain he has been feeling since January.
The player will have to rest for a week and can then return to Villa in two weeks for pre-season.
Traore scored eight times and registered seven assists in his debut campaign for Villa last season upon arriving from Olympique Lyon.
