Crystal Palace attacker Andros Townsend says Lee Charnley keeps things running at Newcastle United.
Townsend says he never met Mike Ashley during his brief spell at Newcastle because managing director Charnley 'does most of his stuff on a day to day basis'.
"I never met him," he said. "Lee Charnley does most of his stuff on a day to day basis but Newcastle is a massive club and I loved my time at Newcastle.
"Hopefully, they do get back to where they belong, which I think is definitely in the top half of the Premier League."
Townsend will be a free agent from July 1 when his Palace deal expires.
