Al Sadd coach Xavi insists he was never tied to Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font's ticket.
Xavi admits he remains keen to eventually coach Barca.
He explained, “I decided to stay loose from any candidate. I spoke with Font and Laporta and left it clear that I wouldn't position myself, that I wouldn't be 'active'. I explained to them what my idea was about the Barca of the future.
“I don't know when it will happen, I am not in a hurry. I am prepared and the truth is I didn't imagine I would have had two offers to take over the team at this point (from Font and previously Bartomeu)."
