West Ham United star Pablo Fornals is among those on standby for the Spain squad for Euro 2020.
Luis Enrique's team have called up a total of five players who will train in a separate bubble from the main squad.
The move comes after Sergio Busquets tested positive for COVID-19, which sparked fears of a wider outbreak within the players.
Everyone in the 24-man squad is now getting daily PCR tests.
Any positive test result at this stage could rule a player out for part or all of the tournament, given Euro 2020 starts this coming weekend.
Others in the separate bubble include Leeds United's Rodrigo, Carlos Soler of Valencia, Brais Mendez of Celta Vigo and Raul Albiol from Villarreal.
