Luiz is leaving Arsenal as his contract winds down this month and is a top target for Sampaoli at OM.
Indeed, so much so that Sampaoli has met with Luiz this week in Rio de Janeiro.
Former Fox Sports pundit Martin Liberman has revealed Sampaoli held talks with Luiz in Rio about a return to France for the former PSG defender.
Sampaoli has also met with Flamengo midfielder Gerson while in Brazil ahead of his move to OM.
