Former England captain Alan Shearer has offered advice to Tottenham striker Harry Kane over his Euros form.

Kane has failed to impress in either of England's opening group games against Croatia and Scotland at Euro 2020 and the 27-year-old was substituted on both occasions.

"A month ago, he got the Golden Boot. He had the most assists in the Premier League so I don't think it's time to panic," Shearer said while looking at Kane's clips from the 0-0 draw.

"It's just a reminder to Harry and I saw it in his game last night: he can't keep coming short for the ball. You've got to offer the defenders other problems in going long and, at times, I just thought he made it easier for the defenders by doing that.

"In his defence, I thought it was far too negative last night because, yes, we want to play a possession-based game but, at times, you've got to look forward. You've got to pass that ball forward. You've got to break the lines."
