Southampton are close to convincing goalkeeper Alex McCarthy to sign a contract extension.
The 31-year-old keeper has played 112 times for the club since signing from Crystal Palace in 2016.
McCarthy spoke about his future in December, claiming he was loving life under boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.
The Athletic claims McCarthy is ready to sign a long term contract to end speculation about his future.
McCarthy and Fraser Forster will battle for a starting spot in goal at the St. Mary's Stadium club next term.
