Liverpool are eyeing Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp is weighing up whether to go outside to find a replacement for new PSG signing Gini Wijnaldum.

Liverpool have been linked with a raft of midfield names since it became apparent that Wijnaldum would be leaving when his deal expires in June.

The Liverpool Echo says the latest on Klopp's radar is Baumgartner.

The Austria international is known for his goalscoring ability from midfield and has been likened to Germany great Michael Ballack.

Last season, 21 year-old Baumgartner scored nine goals and produced seven assists in 41 competitive games for TSG. He has a deal to 2025.
