England legend Gary Lineker has given his thoughts on why Paul Pogba performs better for France than he does for Manchester United.

The Frenchman was once again in impeccable form despite the loss to Switzerland on Monday, which saw Les Bleus eliminated at the last-16 stage.

Pogba's performances at Euro 2020 have reignited the debate about why his form differs from international to domestic football, and Lineker has given his explanation.

The BBC Sport presenter noted on Twitter: "People wonder why @paulpogba plays better for France than Manchester United.

"With France he has players, particularly [Kylian] Mbappe, and now [Karim] Benzema too, who love to make runs and spin behind defences, at United, as of yet, less so."
