KUALA LUMPUR – Residents of various Selangor areas may find themselves under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) given the continued rise in the state’s Covid-19 infections.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said he will announce measures to curb the virus in the state and federal capital today.
The EMCO is more easily implemented in Selangor due to its spread-out districts, but imposing it on Kuala Lumpur requires a “different” proposition, he told reporters at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur vaccination centre this morning.
He said cases in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negri Sembilan contribute more than half of nationwide infections. – The Vibes, July 1, 2021
