Atlético Madrid are considering a move for Manchester City midfielder Yangel Herrera - if they lose Saul Niguez.
Spain international Saul is likely to leave Atleti this summer.
He is linked with a host of clubs, including Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Liverpool.
Should the 25-year-old seal a move away from Diego Simeone's side, Atleti would push ahead with a move for Herrera, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 23-year-old has impressed during a two-year loan spell at Granada in Spain.
