Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves.
The Portuguese is a key target for the Gunners this summer as they look to move on from Granit Xhaka.
According to the Transfer Window Podcast, Arsenal see Neves as better than any of their current central midfielders.
Journalist Duncan Castles stated that Arteta views Neves as a big upgrade on his present options and wants to do everything to secure his signature.
"Ruben Neves, a deal we flagged up to you a couple of months ago that Neves was of interest to Arsenal and that they'd done the preliminary work on trying to recruit him from Wolverhampton Wanderers," Castles said.
"There is competition but they see him as a significant upgrade on the midfielders they have.
"Midfield is an area of the team that they need to reinforce.
"They're trying to sell Granit Xhaka to Roma. No agreement on price as of yet but Xhaka wants that move."
Wolves want £35 million for their star and will not be bullied into selling him for a lower fee.
