KUALA LUMPUR – The Saudi Arabian government has included Sinovac in its list of recognised Covid-19 vaccines for entry into the country.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri in a Facebook post said this is good news for those who intend to perform the umrah and haj pilgrimages.
“Let us all pray for the affairs of Malaysian pilgrims approved to perform the haj this year, to be facilitated by Allah.”
With the latest development, Saudi Arabia now recognises six types of vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Sinopharm and Sinovac.
It was earlier reported that only pilgrims who received the Pfizer and AstraZeneca jabs would be allowed to perform the haj, raising concerns among Malaysians who got the Sinovac shot. – Bernama, July 12, 2021
