Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini believes his "curse" on Bukayo Saka during the Euro 2020 final penalty shootout was successful.
The Azzurri battled back from a goal down at Wembley on Sunday to tie the game, taking it to extra time and then penalties.
Saka missed the final kick of the game, handing Italy the trophy.
Afterward, Chiellini revealed that he screamed "Kiricocho!" as the spot kick was taken.
The word has origins in Argentina and has been used in the sport for decades.
Asked during an interview about the incident by a reporter from ESPN, Chiellini responded in Italian: "Hello Christian, I confirm everything! Kiricocho!"
The legend of the phrase dates back to the 1980s in Argentina.
