Manchester United FA Cup winner Gordon Strachan believes Paul Pogba lacks the support at club level that he enjoys with France.

Strachan says Pogba's brilliance with France is down to having Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante alongside him and PSG striker Kylian Mbappe in front of him.

He said: "If you watch his best passes this year that make you go 'wow', it's invariably to Mbappe. You talk about him being the fastest player and he can see a spot and Mbappe understands a great player can hit that pass at the same time.

"Pogba hasn't got Kante playing beside him in midfield as well at United, and that helps, I think Kante makes anybody a good player.

"It looks like at France he sits back and picks his time when to go, I think at United he sometimes gets played on the left side of a three and they don't want to play him as a sitting midfielder.

"I think that when France are playing, they're going to be the dominant team and in England I don't think United have the same respect that France gets at an international level."
