Before taking the job with Everton this month, Rafa Benitez established his coaching career at Valencia 20 years ago.

Benítez made history at Valencia CF between the 2001/02 and 2003/04 seasons. In his first year at the club, he led Valencia to the first league title in 31 years.
Two years later, they won another league title, as well as the UEFA Cup. During his time at the Mestalla, Benitez also led Valencia to the Champions League final.
