KUALA LUMPUR – An apartment in Bandar Bukit Jalil in the capital here will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Sunday, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

In a statement, Ismail Sabri said the EMCO will affect Apartment Sri Rakyat for two weeks until July 24.

“The Health Ministry (MoH) has found that the trend of cases has increased and, so far, a total of 94 positive cases have been recorded as a result of screening on 598 residents in the locality,” he said.

The EMCO will also be imposed on blocks 11 and 12 of Taman Nuri in Sandakan, Sabah, during the same period.

To date, nine Covid-19 cases have been detected from 16 tests that have been conducted there, he said.

“The MoH also detected a high level infectivity rate in the locality,” he said.

Ismail Sabri also announced that the EMCO enforced in Jalan Kubur here, which was slated to end on July 9, has been extended to July 15.

However, the EMCO imposed on Kg Segambut Dalam here, and Tawau Prison and Taman Ehsan Prison Quarters in Tawau, will end at 11.59pm tonight.

Meanwhile, the EMCO will also come to an end on July 10 as scheduled at the Kg Pukat Tg Batu Laut and Kg Baru Pasir Putih low-cost government flats in Tawau, and at Lorong 12, 15 and 16 in Taman Fajar, Sandakan. – The Vibes, July 9, 2021
