Jurgen Klopp says Harvey Elliott is ready to 'make the next steps' in the Liverpool first-team.

The 18-year-old midfielder enjoyed a widely successful loan campaign with Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers, scoring seven goals and assisted eleven in 41 league appearances during the 2020/21 season.

Elliott has now returned to Liverpool and Klopp is confident he can establish himself in the first-team.

"Harvey made a step, I have to say. He looks in a proper shape, really, really fit," the Liverpool boss told the club's official website.

"He came back in a good shape and is here now in full training obviously.

"You can see last year really worked well for him. Now let's make the next steps together."
