Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hopes Nuno Tavares will be ready to play Rangers on Saturday.
The Portugal U21 left-back is Arsenal's first signing of the summer.
Tavares was unable for selection for Tuesday's clash with Hibernian, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the Gunners.
"[Tavares] didn't have all the paperwork necessary to be involved today," Arteta said of Tavares.
"But hopefully that will be all ready to go and he can have his debut on Saturday against Rangers."
