According to Sky Sport Italia, the two clubs are very close to an agreement, with only the final details left to sort.
Xhaka should head over to Italy in the coming days, complete his medical, and sign for Jose Mourinho's team.
He should be a Roma player by the time their pre-season tour of Portugal starts next week.
