Watford and Udinese are targeting Rennes fullback Brandon Soppy.
L'Equipe says the two clubs are working together to sign the youngster.
Watford and Udinese are owned by the Pozzo family and a deal is now being discussed where Soppy will be signed a spend a year with one of the two clubs.
Rennes are seeking €5m to sell Soppy this summer.
Along with Watford and Udinese, Celtic are also interested in the defender.
