Former Liverpool fullback Jose Enrique says they should seek to re-sign Southampton striker Danny Ings.
Ings has rejected Southampton's offer of a new four-year contract that would have made him the club's best-paid player.
Enrique posted to social media: “Oh my God, this news.
"That would be great, guys. It's sad because my favourite to be the striker for Liverpool next year is Bobby (Roberto Firmino) and (Diogo) Jota can play there as well as (Mohamed) Salah sometimes.
“But listen, this option that nobody talked about before and has been in the news now - for me it would be great.
“I know Danny very well, he's a great man and his work rate (is impressive). Obviously he was at Liverpool before and we know how much the fans love him.
“He always gave 100 percent on the pitch and he's like Robbo (Andy Robertson, Milly (James Milner) and Hendo (Jordan Henderson) - the kind of player with a great attitude, great work rate and great qualities.
“It would be very good to have him back and I believe the price would not be crazy with just one year left on his contract. Definitely, I believe he is a really good option for us."
