Amanda Staveley insists the Middle East consortium she leads is not giving up on buying Newcastle United from Mike Ashley.

Staveley has vowed they remain committed in their battle with Premier League authorities.

Speaking in a new interview with ITV Tyne Tees, Staveley said: “I'm frustrated and saddened (by the year long wait).

“This is an investment post-Covid, post-Brexit that is going into Newcastle and the North of England and I think it's really important.

“We've had thousands and thousands of letters.

“We read and we can't respond to all of them but we are so grateful for the support we've had and we don't want to let you down.

“We are still here today, still waiting patiently, for this process to go forward."
