Barcelona president Joan Laporta has assured fans new contract talks with Lionel Messi are on track.
The Argentine is currently a free agent after his Barca deal expired on June 30.
"Messi? It is progressing," said Laporta.
"He wants to stay, we want him to stay. And we are on the way to find the formula."
Laporta is currently in talks with LaLiga president Javier Tebas to ease their salary cap restrictions so to clear the way to securing Messi to a new deal.
