Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to test his youngsters in preseason.

The Manchester Evening News says Hannibal Mejbri, Shola Shoretire, Anthony Elanga, Will Fish, Teden Mengi, and Ethan Laird are all in line for playing time across United's four friendlies against Derby County, Queens Park Rangers, Brentford, and Everton, with the club open to fitting in at least one more game.

Academy striker Joe Hugill is also under consideration after a superb maiden campaign following his move from Sunderland. Hugill, 17, is understood to have narrowly missed out on a first-team squad inclusion towards the end of last season.

Mejbri, Shoretire, Elanga, and Fish made their United debuts last season while Mengi and Laird debuted in 2019-20.

Mengi and Laird, both 19, secured mid-season loans to Derby County and MK Dons in January and are expected to embark on season-long loans next term.
