Marcus Rashford has been left overwhelmed by supporters who flocked to his mural in order to leave messages of support and encouragement.
The Manchester United star missed a penalty in the Euro 2020 final shootout loss to Italy.
His mural in Manchester was subsequently defaced by hateful messages.
Rashford also received racist and abusive messages on social media since that miss.
But the 23-year-old has thanks fans for showing him support during this tough time.
"Overwhelmed. Thankful. Lost for words." he wrote on the social media website to accompany the messages.
