Real Madrid have granted Manchester United permission to open talks with Raphael Varane.
Sky Sports says United have opened talks with representatives of Varane.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made the Real Madrid his centre-back priority following the deal to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.
Sancho passed a United medical yesterday.
United were given permission to speak to Varane's camp and once personal terms are agreed, they will open negotiations with Real themselves.
