Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand could understand the emotions of Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after their Euro 2020 defeat of the Czech Republic.

Hojbjerg dropped to his knees at the final whistle.

Hjulmand said, "Pierre's reaction is a good picture of what we have all been through. It was a relief, joy and euphoria at the same time, it was an exhaustion.

"I still do not think that there are many who have understood what this troupe has been through emotionally.

"We're not done with it. You do not just close it, and then you move on. These are really some wild stories and things we have been through together.

"There's something still lying around and I love that it's coming out. I love that we allow it in our own way.

"It was totally cool to see the relief and joy and the feelings that Pierre had, and there were also other players who showed it.

"We are constantly compared to the European Championships in 1992, and whether we can go to the final, and that's fine, but the most important thing is to be in the moment, right when it happens."
