Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl has announced Denis Zakaria wants to leave this summer.
The Switzerland midfielder has attracted interest from Manchester City and Liverpool over the past season.
And Eberl told Kicker: "With Denis we have been trying to extend with him since October. Denis and his management told us relatively clearly that they would prefer a transfer this summer, if something happens...
"Let's wait and see what happens."
Zakaria has a deal with Gladbach to 2022.
