Spanish outlet AS reports the 29-year-old is ready to travel to Sociedad, undergo a medical and sign a two year contract with the club.
The Australian has a year left on his contract at Brighton and spent the second half of last season on loan with Arsenal.
Even though the Gunners have been interested in signing him again, a move to the San Sebastian club and La Liga seems more likely.
Ryan may believe he has a better chance of gaining regular first team football with Real Sociedad.
