New contract talks between Alejandro Balde and Barcelona are on track.
The left-back was taken aback last Friday when ordered to join Barca B for preseason training.
The decision was made as new contract talks were stalling. However, Balde's agent Jorge Mendes took action and negotiations intensified over the weekend, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Both Barca and Mendes are now close to an agreement over a deal to 2026.
There's a confidence that Balde will put pen to paper before the end of the month. Barca coach Ronald Koeman will be pleased as he has plans to promote Balde as outright left-back cover for Jordi Alba this new season.
